If You Don't Remember Taking These Photos, You Probably Were Drunk!

It was the 15th of January (Lunar Calendar). It is also known as the Chinese Valentine. There is a tradition following this day, where all the single ladies will be throwing mandarins into a lake and the single guys will be collecting those mandarins from the lake. It is said that by fate, you will be united with your another half through this practice. But of course, contact number should be written down before you throw the mandarins into the lake larh ladies. Please remember to use waterproof marker pen too.

Well, instead of doing so, we decided to fish in the club. Sorry.. should say helping my friend (you know who you are) to fish. xD

So Zouk, here we came.

All the pretty pretty girls :)

With some of the pretty boys xD

As I looked back into the photos in the morning, I found that I don't remember taking some of them. Some were so funny that I can't stop LOL-ing. I dont't usually post about partying at clubs but ONE epic photo changed my mind and I wanted to make an exception this time.

Moments

Remember the search for someone's iPhone? It probably was taking a hideout behind the sofa.

When Angela is wearing Tim's glasses :)

When I can barely open my eyes!

Wow... Look so much like a couple photo ;)

Now come the epic one! Greattt!

Photo booming!

You LOL. =D

It was a great night out! I LURVE you guys! :)

Fried Laksa @ Subang SS14

Well Cook Gourmet Restaurant, situation just along the row of shop houses at Subang SS14, is very well-known for it's specialty - Fried Laksa.

Fried Laksa? Yeap, you don't have to rub your eyes or double check if I wrote it wrongly. Fried Laksa; Laksa that is fried. This is a must-try if you are a Laksa fanatic, or a sourly-kind-of-spicy food lover. All I can say is that it tastes so good that by the end of each plate, you will actually consider ordering another plate though you are already full. Well, at least it happens to me.

While waiting for our order to arrive, babe is playing with his new apps. He took a cool edited photo in order to persuade me to jailbreak my iPhone. He succeeded in doing so.

Apart from Fried Laksa, a variety of Laksa (claypot Laksa, etc.) and other kind of dishes are also served in this restaurant. Popiah is another dish that you should try. I wouldn't say it's the best but it's good for a starter while you are waiting for your main course.

The Monte Carlo Luck

Babe & Tim got quite lucky the night before during the Beer & Gambling session, and hence we decided to try our luck at Genting's casino. Well, too much of gambling you say? It's the Chinese New Year. It's okay. Haha.

Initially babe & I planned to visit the Doraemon World Exhibition during the afternoon but too bad, the queue, which was as long as the mighty dragon, demotivated us. Was a bit sadden by this case.

Can only see the Doraemon's selling booth in First World...

After a round of madness in the Arcade, we bought some junk food and went out to chill in the cold. The unforgivable chilly winds are literally beating on our faces and every inch of my skin which is not covered by any cloth. Freezing cold. The temperature must be lower than 10 degree Celsius. Tim said it could be worse in the Netherlands, of which the temperature during the winter season can be around minus 15 degree Celsius or lesser. Gosh...

I was quickly turning into an icicles

Someone said he is from Holland too and hence not a bit bothered by the cold. But looking into this shaky pic, I don't think so... LOL

After 20 minutes or so, we headed towards the casinos. Just the main purpose we came up to Genting Highland. Hahaha.

The new Star World which replaced the Pavillion, with very strict security. Make sure you visit it if you have the chance, guarantee you'll be WOW-ed once you step in

Then we went over to Monte Carlo. Good news to those who loves gambling but hate the smoke - Monte Carlo 1 and 2 are converted into non-smoking area. Niceee... Now you can gamble all night long without the worry of being second-hand smoker. :)

Tim was superbly lucky. It was like the God of Fortune was sticking by his side. Imagine buying a few specific numbers on the Roulette game and strike one! How lucky was that!

Babe's little fortune for the night

As we "earned" enough to cover the cost for this trip, we went to Coffee Bean to chill out for a bit before heading down hill. I think it was a great night for everyone. It's fun to just hang out like this :)

Beer & Gambling Session: Second Round

Ann is our handler, as in handling us, the Batch 4 MA. Weeks ago we got an email from her stating that she is resigning. Well, this came as a surprise to many of us. If I'm not mistaken, just a few months ago she was transferred from another BU to Holdings. A few of other HR personnel in the BU I'm currently attached to are also leaving. When this happens, you can't help but ask... what's wrong!? But, Ann is leaving for better opportunity, so it's good news. The only sad part is that our time spent together is short.

So, we decided to pay her a visit during the CNY. Drove all the way from Shah Alam to Bandar Mahkota Cheras, a place which is very familiar to me but have not visited for quite some time. Hi Sungai Long! :)

We were greeted by a handsome, young, energetic one-year-old. He is Ann's baby boy, Jonathan. Didn't take any pics but basically it's good to finally gather and meet up with everyone after not meeting for quite some time. And not to forget Imah made us Tiramisu! Yum yum yummy...

After that visit, went straight to Alex's house for the second round beer session. Continuing the Beer & Lou Sang Gathering. This time we too finished 2 cartons of Heineken. I think I'm sick of beer already and gonna stay away from it, at least for awhile.

The effect of beer and gambling, which I would say is quite an emotional activity...

a) The "Drunk & Dead"
As usual...

Even sifu also cannot tahan... Lol ;)

Guess who is this?

b) The "Alive & Kicking"

The 'Qin Bui Bat Zui' Awards go to...

c) The "Struggling-to-Keep-Awake"

Ohh see, someone is taking a photo of us, lets open our eyes big big and smile into the camera...

Challenge Accepted - Wrapping Hamper

It’s time to shop for a CNY gift for babe’s family. I ran out of decent gift ideas already. Sis bought a hamper that cost her RM50. And earlier she won a hamper through lucky draw that was estimated to cost around RM120 looking at the size of it. But as we ripped off the hamper, we realized that all the sweets, cookies, chocolates, etc. that made up the hamper are nothing but mere big boxes to make the hamper look bigger. Some of the snacks are of those we would not have bought because we don’t like it.

Did you ever visit the hypermarkets or mall and noticed that all the hampers nowadays are darn expensive. With RM120, I seriously can easily get better choices of snacks. So… I told myself…

I’m going to make a hamper myself!

So we went shopping at Tesco Taiping. RM50 is the budget to make an M-sized hamper. And babe get to choose whatever snacks that he or he thinks his family desire to eat. :)

Grace was my assistant.

Ta-da! Hamper stuffed with snacks that we would have bought because we like it!

Oh yeah!!

Lion/Dragon Dance Performance

1st Feb. It’s Federal Territory Day. Happy holiday to those working in Kuala Lumpur. Too bad I’m not located in the federal territory and hence I don’t get to enjoy this public holiday. Duhhh…

But fret not! Because today, I get to enjoy the lion (and dragon) dance performance held in conjunction to the 2012 Lunar New Year. It’s part of my company’s tradition.

Though deafening, the loud beating of drums and clanging of cymbals actually heighten my spirit for the day. Going to wish for a fantastic and terrrrrific year!

Lions going for the mandarins, pamelo, and lettuce

Lions took quite some time to "munch" their "food"
They are arranging the coins into some Chinese words actually
And what's funny was that some of the big bosses are either yawning or texting while they patiently wait for the lions to dance again

Nice pose Lions. Dragon, you need to look into the camera. Haha.
Let's usher the year of Dragon! :)

Lunar New Year 2012 - Some Updates

"Pap pap pap pap pap...!"

We heard the sound of fire crackers going off from a near distance. Few minutes later, more household from north, south, every directions, joined in. Soon, fireworks can also be seen blasting off in the sky. A sense of joy and merriness filled the air, heighten the already excited emotion.

We rejoiced at the arrival of the dragon year!

Happy Chinese New Year peeps! Wishing all of you a happy and prosperous year, and may this dragon year bless everyone of us with superb health and wealth! :)

Was so busy gathering and catching up with my beloved family that I rarely have the time to even Facebook, let alone blogging. Hence, I would like to wind my blog back to a day ago and post some updates on some of the happenings for these few days.

21st January 2012 - First round of reunion dinner & Dad's big day

The first round of reunion dinner this year is prepared by my mom. Because she is working, we made it nice and simple – a dinner at a restaurant in Kamunting, 醉林居海鲜酒家.

Wikipedia, Google Going Black

I was searching some info using Wikipedia and when the page loaded, saw this (below) and surprised me.

*click on the pic to enlarge*

First thing that came to my mind is what in the world is SOPA and PIPA? Luckily there is a "Learn More" tab at the bottom right side of the banner to ease my search for these 2 acronyms.

Okay, so on the 16th of January, 2012, the Wikipedia community announced its decision to black out the English language Wikipedia for 24 hours, worldwide, beginning at 05:00 UTC on Wednesday, 18th of January, 2012. Such decision is an effort to protest against the proposed legislation to stop Internet piracy by the United States Congress.

SOPA, short for Stop Online Piracy Act and the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) if pass would allow the Justice Department to seek a court order requiring U.S. search engines to scrub certain results from the sites as one of its antipiracy measures see this and this

Gosh! Imagine the horror if both of these bills are passed.

How many times Wikipedia and other online websites have saved your life by helping you in finishing off your assignments? How many times our most errant, absurd, obscure questions are answered with minimal keystrokes on Google?

I don’t know you but I do often wiki and google. Couldn’t imagine what would happen should the bills are passed... It would be devastating to the free and open web!

This protest will also be joined by Google, the giant search engine (though they didn’t shut down their site but instead covered most of the logo on its U.S. homepage with a black box, and added a link asking users to tell the U.S. Congress “please don’t censor the web”), and thousands of other, mostly smaller websites.

Two hours later I checked Wikipedia...

It is for real... ...

Mandarins & Ang Pow from Boss

This is a random post that I just can't resist from writing it. My big boss just went around and distributed 2 mandarins and an Ang Pow to everyone in the marketing operations department.

How kind and cute of him. :) He is not even a Chinese, but a Pakistani.
This man definitely knows how to make his subordinates happy working for him.

Beer Factory/ Happy Birthday KC

It is KC’s birthday and as usual, he had chosen a place that involves drinking and dancing and sight-seeing chicks. Hahaha.

We didn’t join for the dinner session because babe and I were having another karaoke session with my angels. But we did turn up for the second round instead – Beer Factory.

With the birthday boy - KC

The greatest couple of all times.. Muahaha!

One of my angels and her bf. Sweet sweet couple.

Oh well, Beer Factory is a GAB solus and hence you can only choose to drink from a range of brands that GAB is carrying such as Tiger, Heineken, Guinness and some other imported brands like Paulaner and Strongbow. I think we ordered and drank like 5 towers of Heineken and a tower of Long Island, which is a mixture of some liquor and some fruit juice. Heart Long Island much <3!

Not really a nice piece of pic I know.. Duhh..

Still sober

After finishing all the 6 towers, we moved on to Movida because KC still have some liquors saved there. So we headed over there to finish it. It's the second second-round. And we had a few round of ice war.. Must have been very messy and people may thought we were nuts. Lol.. it was fun though.

Trying to stay sober

Goshh.. Shuen looks better with his glasses on, and I looked nerdy

Awesome level: 4 ½ stars

3am.. a night of fun ended. Happy birthday KC! :)
